Exclamation Log On Locally problems.. !

So I have 2 machines, 1 is the server running 2000 server, and one is my main box using XP.

I setup up Active Directory and A DNS on the server and I connected to that domain with my main XP box.

However, on the server box, the administrator cannot log in locally? When the control alt delete thing is asked on bootup and u have to enter ur user/pass when I try to switch the dropdown "log onto" or whatever, the domain is only listed. Log on locally isnt listed at all.

    What gives!???

Ok you need to use a program called Sysprep. Let me see if I can give you a link. Sysprep is a prog used to identify machines to a network configured for dns. so run sysprep on the clients and then try. now if your local server admin account is not working it is because you have not configured your dns correctly. if you want to log on to administrator locally the domain is not going to show up. so dont worry about the domain when you want to log on locally.

When a server becomes a Domain Controller, the local accounts are scraped and Active Directory takes over, just logon to it as it it was the local machine because that's practically all you do. You'll notice this by opening Computer Management (Right-click My Computer-> Manage) and click Local Users and Groups and it tells you that active directory is installed and it's disabled etc.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)
