When Monitor Hates Graphic Card!
Have you ever seen such a weird problem as this: My friend had a TNT GeForce installed on his machine with newly installed Windows XP. It was tested and worked fine. But when he took it home, his computer kept on restarting and just booted in safe mode. He asked for my help and I looked at the event viewer and there was some error regarding Volume Shadow Copy, which was totally irrelevant to the situation. You guess what was the cause of the problem? You won't believe it: the monitor!!!!!!!!! If we unplugged the monitor XP booted normally, and that monitor worked with another PC just fine. I don't understand why! We ended replacing the VGA card.

Some say the solution is to break on of the pins of the cable, as it has 15 pins and other monitors have 14, however they didnt know which pin exactly.

The ATI card is a capture card and was replaced with no extra fee.

If you are sure , you don't have any defect parts in your moniter , then why not contact Compac(I hate this Compaq) and see what they will justify the problem .

First, it was not mine, though I have a Compaq FS7550 monitor too. Also its just a pain in the ass to contact them for a two or three years old monitor that just runs fine on other computers.
