    Does anyone know how to rebuild, or disassemble the NTLDR file? How does this work?
    I need to understand the functions because I want to build
    my own platform.

    Any suggestions?

    It's probably written in assembly. However, I do have a copy of the source for a Linux bootloader (can't remember which one). If I find the source I'll post it.
