Who moderates this Chit-Chat forum?
It says plenderj does, but it apears that MartinLiss does a lot more moderating that plenderj does. Perhaps the forum moderation sig should be changed to MartinLiss instead of plenderj, or both.
I only say this because I got a PM from Martin about somethin I said in the Chit-Chat forums a few days ago (which I agree was inapropriate, but seemed to fit the moment) that was directed towards a certain very annoying chit chat member. It basically said, "I have deleted a post you made and I don't want to see anything like that again".
Now, I am not sure if plenederj would have let that post go or not, but it does seem Mr. Liss has a much tighter reign on things in the Chit Chat forum.

A Moderator is in charge of specific forums, while a Super mod can do all of them.

No, they can do everything except change the forum layout. I do believe... but it may well be customizable.

Arc, are you in the US?
If so that is probably the reason you see Martin more than Jamie. Jamie will be out on the piss whenever you are online.
(and for the Americans: out on the piss = an evening out, with ones gentleman friends, enjoying the delights of the local brewing establishments)

Jamie sometimes is still out on the piss when you're online

Then what do you call it when they're actually taking a piss?

Retired VBF Adm1nistrator
I'm on GMT time - so I'm online from about 08:30AM GMT. I also work full-time whereas Martin has recently retired and would have more time than I.
I am also a lot less strict than Martin. Bear in mind, quite some times ago, Martin actually banned me
Martin and I both used to be Admins, but then we were both demoted to SuperMods after JupiterMedia took over.
Martin was since promoted I suppose. I dunno, I only noticed that a few months ago.
SuperMods can ban people and I have done so. But I can no longer change the layout of the board, change important board settings, ban by IP address or e-mail address, turn off the board, backup the board or do any maintenance type stuff.
And Slaine and Wally're right - I'm probably out on the piss while the Americans are online, and still out on the piss when I'm supposed to be working here

IMO, Jamie does a fine job it's just that he's not an old curmudgeon like I am.

Are you claiming that your answer is the answer to an answer-less question?
