Class Help
Howdy all,
I was just wondering about something. I see alot of people here asking for help, to assignments/projects they recieve from University, High School, and so on. Isn't asking for help (not really, because we end up giving the answers as best as possible), a bit like cheating? Isn't the whole point of the assignment to see if they are capable of it themselves? I'm only 14 and I know that I shouldn't have the answer given to me.
Thats just my opinion...
Anyone else?

It doesn't matter, because the stuff you learn in school is all crap anyways. If you learn something it has to be on your own anyways. And it's a coincidence that both these sentences ended with anyways, anyways.

When people ask for help it's fine, this is just another resource that can be used (it's essentially the same as asking a teacher or another pupil "can you explain this to me").
If they say "write this for me", then I consider that cheating, as it is not their work, and they probably wont learn anything.
Basically if they trying to understand it (no matter who they ask for advice), then they are learning!

Yes. There's a member called... "heartisablack", I think, who does get the code, but always wants an explanation. I like that he/she's learning what we give him/her.
Now there are some other members, who'll have that typical post:
Hi,
I have to make an enterprise resource planning software for my final project. Could you please make one for me?
My email address is [email protected]
Thanks!

si_the_geek: That is what I meant. Asking for a bit of help/example. But when they say, can you write an entire function that will perform this task for (as mendhak said) final project, thats what sorta makes me wonder.
Good to see I'm not the only one

I usually reply to these with something along the lines of
"We're here to solve problems, not to do your work."
Depending on the tone of the original post and if the poster is a repeated offender, I might change it some
