Should We Expand the Forum Listings

When you look at the VBF home page you can see that there is a Resource Library forum with VBForums CodeBank and VBForums UtilityBank child forums underneath it. The two child forums also have children of their own which you can see either by clicking on the CodeBank or UtilityBank or directly by opening the Forum Jump list at the bottom of the page. Several people have suggested that they would like to have the CodeBank and UtilityBank forums show their children on the home page even though that would make the home page display longer. Please let us know your choice.

Why did you post a link in each forum to this? You could have made 1 thread and shown it on all forums like the ad... Also, both categories should be combined and expanded. Alot of posts can fall under either or. It's the only logical solution.

Try it out. If it sucks and looks cluttered, close them back up.

Which is why we should combine them since certain things can be categorized in either one.

General VB + API + VBA + COM = One Subject
Database + Reporting = Another Subject

    Just my opinion.

They are kinda different languages though? (well, with VBA and VB atleast)

    I'd suggest,
General VB + API. (some threads end having suggestions of using API instead)

And maybe put COM and ActiveX in with General VB as well? :dunno:

Keep the forums hidden. There not the sort that you need to view every day, so they really don't need to be seen.

I wonder if it was possible to implement a hack similar to what rjlohan did over at Galahtech. There you can switch forums on or off in your personal preferences, so that they do or do not show in the complete overview. For example, I could hide all the VB forums.

It's an Invision board over there, but maybe a similar thing is possible here?

At the core, this is a vBulletin board. Like most boards, it's quite easy to change headers and footers and style.

Maybe you could add a Spam forum/subforum, and make advertiser post in them, also, you could put the banners in there so people can see them all in one place, would that be good?!?!

Just like there are more than one programming language there is more than one kind of math so you could say either "algebra and Calculus are two kinds of maths" or "algebra and calculus are two different kinds of math".

Although Math is a valid word, and so is Maths, they both are derivatives of the word Mathematics. So I suggest calling the forum "Mathematics" would dispell any controversy that Maths generates.

So that's mathematics not maths. I have never heard anyone in my entire life say "maths".

Maths is used in England. Math is an American term because they don't understand plural concepts.
If it were Mathematic then the short version would be Math, but it's not is it...
