[ZeroCool Resolved it!] Windows XP uncompatible, Windows 2000 wont boot :/
I have a windows 2000 pro CD that doesnt want to boot on any computer. It would probably work if I had a floppy boot disk, however Im attempting to install it on a new notebook that doesnt have a floppy drive. Windows XP isnt suitable, for reasons I wont waste your time with, and the notebook is indeed set to boot off the CD first.
Does anyone know how I could possibly install my Windows 2000 Pro?
Thank you!

Let me guess, you are using an IBM ThinkPad?
Why isnt XP suitable? Please, waist my time. I wana know!
If its an IBM, it F12 when you get the nice IBM splash screen after turning on the laptop, this will bring up the boot menu.

Close, its a new toshiba notebook. Windows XP doesnt like my Avaya Gold card, and Windows 2000 is also more recommended for playing around with wireless networks. I have set it to boot from the disk. Ive installed several other operating systems on this notebook before, and they all booted from the CD with no problems.

How is that true when XP in fact has better support for wireless networks?

if you got a cd burner and some time, i'll give you the bootfiles you need for the cd and tell you how to make it
unless the computer is the problem, then you'll need 6 floppys and sometime.
btw: check on the net for drivers for ur network card
Look for your card here
Visual Baisc 6 (SP5)
Windows Xp

Wow! Really ZeroCool? That would be great. Yes, I do have a CD burner and I've got plenty of time. However it seems I might have a faster solution. I checked the link you gave me and it had my card there. The CD that came with my card had no windows XP drivers, so I assumed it wasnt compatible. I will try again.
Thanks so much!

I Think this is the link for the drivers for your card but you may want to check to be sure.
