requirements for developing using ASP.NET
This is going to be a strange question.
Does anyone know the requirements for developing using ASP.NET? By that I mean the software, server (web server etc) requirements.
As far as I know having VS.net and IIS are the only requirements.
The reason I am asking is we are having some training on ASP.NET and my boss is worrying we will not have the means to use the training and that it will be wasted.
we are alright as far as I know.

Yes, remember you can't have IIS installed on XP Home edition, so if that is what you have available, you are not going to be able to do it.
I do my development on a Win 2K box with IIS and VS.Net.

My boss was concerned ASP.NET had some extra requirements. He wanted me to make sure before he spent a couple of grand on training.
I take it IIS is all we need to publish the web site. Management keep talking about e-commerce and content Management server, but I take it these are only extras not necessary requirements.

Those are extras, and are only required if the situation warrants it.
