Page Footer Ads?
How effective are the ads in the page footer? The ones at the way bottom of the webpage?
I'm just wondering, because I hardly ever (if ever) scroll down far enough to even see them. So much so that I forget that they're there often and am surprised when I do scroll down to see them.
These ads are ALWAYS there, yet the top ones seem to come and go. Wouldn't it be more effective to just always show the top ad and do away with the bottom ad?
Just curious.

Well ...
I don't even notice the ads at the top. I have developed an immunity of sorts against the ads.
Anyways, I think they are making a few extra bucks from those bottom ads too. Don't tell them to scrap them. Because if they do, they will have to make up for the lost revenues by putting more ads at the top.
Sorry Brad and co. I know it feels kinda ungrateful....

So what you are saying is that we should move the footer ads to a position that displays higher on the page so that they will be seen more....
I believe this is another time that we can provide what you are asking!
Actually, the footer ads are a standard ad placement and advertisers generally understand how they work. Their visibility varies on different pages. On some pages they are much more noticeable than on others. I don't really control the ads (my focus is site content from a technical perspective and not on the ads or sale of the ads). I'd speculate that the footer ads are sold as part of package deals that tie in with other ad placements.

OK, I confess I like to watch the bottoms, but not those of a webpage! Keep the bottom ads there, and don't put them on top, else the only thing I shall be forced to see is the bottom of the page, because that's where the contents will be....
