Crstal Reports - Summary Issue
Hi
I'm using Crystal 7.
My report has a supressed Details section and a Group Footer section
The Group footer section supresses some data via a formula I've put in (i.e. only brings back data for a criteria that I want)
What I'm trying to do is put in a Summary figure of that data which the report shows
However when i use the Insert Summary function on the field concerned, the figure that displays is a total summary of the field (including the data I've supressed) - not a total of what is on the page itself
So is there a way to get a summary of a Group footer section and/or a summary of only what is on the page - not including data that has been supressed by the report ???

The Insert Summary option is a quick method for creating a Running Total field. However, as you noted, it includes all records.
A Running Total field gives you a few more options. You can set the criteria to evaluate when the sum takes place. For example, every record, when a field changes or by using a formula. You can also specify when to reset the field back to 0, typically done when a group changes.
Running Total fields can be created in the same place as a Formula. Not sure of the exact location in version 7.
