Installing VB.NET
I have a developer PC where I have VB6 enterprise edition with MDAC 2.6 being used to maintain an existing system.
I'll be installing VS .NET to use VB.NET and create a new system that's based entirely on the .NET framework.
Is this a good idea? Would the .NET installation screw up my existing configuration? What do I need to look out for (if any)?
Thanks

This has been asked ALOT.
No it won't even touch it, they are totally different programming development environments.

I just finished installing VS .NET PRO but on another PC.
As I was in the process of the SETUP, it indicated that MDAC will be replaced with Ver 2.7 SP1. I cancelled the setup because I didn't want my developer PC updated with the newer version of MDAC. I will have problems if I will compile a new EXE of the existing program I am maintaining and being sent it to the CITRIX Server since I will have runtime issues.
For some reason, they don't want to change the MDAC in the Citrix server hence, so I can't change mine too.
