    Newbie help

    I am new in data report
    I wish to create a datareport
    but i search through the web and cannot find much things helpful

    Any good tutorial for me to create a datareport?
    what is the difference between datareport and crystalreport?
    How to link to database for datareport?

    what do I have to do to install crystalreport?
    need to download additional patch?
    does it come with VB6.0?

    VB6 Professional or higher version comes with CR Ver 4.x. It's in one of the CD installer directory.

    Sorry I don't use CR 4.x anymore. Each CR version has somewhat different ways of configuring database connection and VB program integration so a step-by-step "show me" would not be ideal unless we have the same CR version (I use 9.0).

    On the bright side, it is very easy to learn. Install and use your CR 4.x. Create a database connection, then proceed to design the report with the connection. The help files would be able to guide you. That's how I did it when management didn't want to "invest" into softwares that boost productivity of their personnel (that was 2 yrs ago - and that's also the reason why I'm working for another employer now! . )
