Good way to format HD?
Hi.
What is a good way to format a HD instead of making a boot disk then type fdisk ?
Because our laptop HD needs formating. We are planning to format it with Norton Ghost 7.5 .
Is there a better way to do this?

If you are going to install XP , then it's nothing more than inserting the cd and start from there . It format/partition/repartition the HD . After you get it installed , then use Norton Ghost then you can figure the rest yourself

Why is is stupid. You'll need to reinstall windows (or any other OS). So, that the PC won't work after the "format" command who cares. He asked for a good way of formating his HD, this is a good way...

No , it's not a good way . Simply just insert a bootable cd (XP , Win2000 or ME) and that's it . No format commands , just follow the instructions .
