Cheapest Possible Place to get VisualStudio .NET?
I want to buy it, I really like the IDE. It makes coding so much easier.
Right now I am a college student but my college doesn't seem to offer it at any special prices. Hell most of their programming classes use VS6 still (ack).
Is their any reputable sites that a college student can get really good deals on software like this? I'm pretty sure my school isn't affiliated with MS or anything, so I am kind of limited to what discounts I could get (I think).

Hmmm...maybe they hide it from those who don't know to ask for it?
Couldn't hurt to give it a shot.

For one thing its 7 cd's, and not all of the cd's are on Kazaa. You will have to use a little of win-mx, kazaa, and shareazaa. Trust me I downloaded all 7 cd's, and it takes a long time to find them all (real copies anyway). I have Visual Studio.NET Enterprise Architect Edition

Well , VS.NET 2003 is less than 2Gb (about 3 cds) without Vision , BitTalk server , and MSDN . If you want to download , get the first three cds only .

How about no?
Kazaa is an absoultely worthless program, I don't understand why ANY human in their right mind would use it. The memory leaks are enough to drive you batty.
Anyway, I used to have a copy I downloaded, but it was a PAIN in the ASS to install. Houndreds of errors during installation, random curruptions, it was just a nightmare.
Besides, I am trying to go legit with all of my software. Since I am going to be developing software and such, if I want anyone to buy them how am I gonna pirate other people's software? Just seems ****ed up to me. Actually, are you even allowed to sell software made with the academic version?

I don't have a problem downloading very large files like that. I bet I could download all 7 CDs in a few hours.
I love my internet connection

Only if I use Kazaa, there are SOOO many ways you can get stuff much easier and faster than Kazaa, I don't understand why people even USE Kazaa.

You can use WinMX to get app. files?.....
I always thought it was restricted to media files....
Udioa, video and images.....
And @ egtting it from Kazaa....lol....I tried getting it once...twice...three...four...twenty....seventy-six times (plus or minus ten)...
I eventually got frustrated with all the corrupted ISO's, the fake copies and the constant disconnections....(not to mention the speed)....
So I gave up and BOUGHT (yep that's right) bought me the copies...(only cost me about $400...(links my friens...links...)

That is what I figure, how would they know? Me thinks they have some hidden code that gets compiled to let them know....

This is true...... if you like songs that sound like they're being played out of Rosie O'Donald's ASS.

I think I may wait for Whidbey and then get that one, instead of wasting my money on this version and needing an upgrade a few months later.
BTW, when does VS 2004 come out?

Yes you do, you probably can't hear very well. Well over 95% of all music on Kazaa is 128kbit or less. That is absoultely HORRIBLE quality. HORRIBLE!

Whidbey in 2004, the next one in 2005, Longhorn in 2006.

i cant tell if u mean longhorn will be released in 2006, or the version of VS that is going to go along with longhorn
in either case, the link says 2005 for both, not 2006

Longhorn is 2006 like I already said. Microsoft released a press statement saying such.
Google it

Why would Microsoft issue a press release saying Longhorn is due out in 2006, and TechTV has been covering it like crazy (when it happened) if it is coming out in 2005? Simple, because it isn't.

Microsoft says it will be released in 2006. yes, Microsoft DOES know when it will come out.
God forbid some outdated articles on Microsoft.com say differently from a PRESS RELEASE newer than the article.
