On your suggestions, the memory looks fine, the motherboard is too expensive, and I can't find the monitor (I'm trying to buy everything off www.newegg.com).
Everything is awesome except the HD, RAM, Video Card, mobo.
I would Go with An MSI Board or ASUS because the one you picked out doesnt support 8x Video Cards.
I would spend a little bit more money for the Radeon 9600...and go with a Western Digital Hard Drive (no seagate or maxtor) and go go with some Kingston DDR.
P.S. There is nothing wrong with the Video Card you picked out but im just saying you might as well spend a little bit more to get the better card.

Don't really feel like explaining.
What a load of ballcocks!
Serial ATA is not meant to replace IDE, only to offer a faster alternative for people who have already max'd out their IDE's!
RAID does not function as a regular IDE port at all! RAID offers a variety of functions including JBOD (Just a bunch of disks) RAID 0 (Stripping) which means each odd stack is interpretted by a different drive, therefore increasing read/write speeds. RAID 1 (Mirroring), which is used as a basic security array, so data is mirrored across 2 drives. There are several other RAID arrays, including cyclic error checking between 3 or more drives... etc etc.
oh.. your motherboard selection stinks too! MSI are one of the cheapest, most useless motherboards produced. Asus aren't much better. Gigabyte maybe slightly more expensive... but it's like comparing a Ford to a Bentley!
Seagate are one of the best brands of hard disk, and IMHO... far better than the cheapy Western Digital.
It's useless buying top quality peripherals if you're motherboard blows chunks! Get a good quality board... and everything will fall into place.
OK, first of all I didnt feel like explaining to him and 2nd of all MSI does not suck, You suck for being gay. I never said that gigabyte sucked, and I never said that MSI was the best motherboard to get either.
Oh look the Gigabyte board has cool colors, it must be better.

MSI are well known for being the 'cheap cheerful' option... ask any pro in the trade.
"You suck for being gay" - What a very mature response!
I never said you'de classed Gigabyte as if they sucked... so lord only knows where you got that from.
"Technically raid is used for your IDE devices" - I agree with you there... but that's not what you said previously!
I'm not screwed up m8 either... I just hate it when people try to offer advice and get it completely and utterly wrong. WikidJeff probably has the idea that MSI are better... which they are not IMHO!
I liked the sarcastic comment about Gigabyte motherboards being nice colours though... very ego-busting!
I've used Seagate hard drives for years... and have only had a 200 year old 1Gb fail on me! I've had loads of WD's (including the special editions) fail on me.
I always put quality over cost... and i'm afraid MSI aren't at the top of my order list. Neither are Asus!
I branched out from Gigabyte once... and bought the Abit AT7-MAX2.... and what a disaster that was! Simply the worst mobo i've ever used. Beautiful packaging (as Abit usually do) but i'de rather have a blank white box providing the motherboard worked properly! PCI latency by the bucket-load!
I'm not really fuss'd which bits he buys... as long as he's happy with it (and it's a good price)... fair play!
