Stuff like this doesn't belong in the General VB Coding Questions section.

IntelSucks, shutup you a$$hole, you don't actually seem to contribute anything useful to this forum except your stupid propaganda.
And AMD is not contributing the processors for the XBOX2 at all, IBM is making it but according to Microsoft's design specs.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

This is true, the CPU is a PowerPC CPU.

Well...I stumble across another thread where a fight is taking place
IntelSucks, if you post irrelevant posts in the wrong forums then you should expect to get some stick for it I am afraid.
Seperate forums are there for a reason. If they arn't used correctly then it would become a free for all, and no one would visit the site as it would just fill up with ****e
If you knew someone would say something like that, then why did you post it there. You obviously knew that you were posting in the wrong thread...Boooooo *slap*
As for the rest of you...No fighting, unless I am invited. That clear?!
Anyways, where is the poll/vote? There isn't one...
I personally wouldn'y touch AMD with even Mendhaks ****ty stick. I would always go with Intel. One of my pet hates is marketting. AMD try to confuse customers with their naming convention. Remembering that the average customer knows nothing about PCs. They don't know what 80Mb is, nor do they know what a USB port is. AMD name their processors like AMD 2400. Now to your average Joe Bloggs, this sounds like it's a 2.4Ghz processor. But as we all know, it isn't, is it. People, like my parents, fell for this...how I laughed when I explained that it was actually about a 300Hz calculator...hehe.
Intel all the way.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooof
IntelSucks, you don't work for IBM do you?

IBM Sucks and I think that the only reason you go with intel is because they have a million commercials on tv. The typical person goes with intel.

OK. When several people are replying to a thread it's always a good idea to Quote the post you are referring to, particularly if one of them is a moderator who got up on the wrong side of the bed

There is nothing worng with AMD's naming convention. A 2400+ will perform like a 2.4GHz p4 and usually better. Even if it doesn't actually run at 2.4GHz, it is rated for 2.4GHz performance.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with it. In fact, I think it helps inform people on what kind of performance to expect.

Well so far this conv has gone:
AMD is better than intel.
No, I prefer Intel.
I disagree, AMD is way better.
Arsehole
Insults will bet you banned.(Boooo, Martin, you should have just joined in and randomly insulted people)
Intel is better!
No, AMD is!.
Our car is more expensive than yours.
Well, my dad is bigger than yours!
Hahahaha
So far, not one of you has come up with any points to back yourself up. I gave one, although a very weak one and based on marketting, rather than the chip itself
Has anmyone got any proof that AMD are better?
Instead of say "No it isn't, this is better", can people please give reasons why?
Wooooooofa

Facts:
Gigahertz Intel
Price AMD
Quality AMD
Pipelines AMD
FSB Intel
Multitasking AMD
64 Bit Compatability AMD
Heat Factor Intel
Ability to overclock: AMD
Gaming AMD
Programming AMD
Compiling AMD
Music Editing AMD
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok as we all know INTEl does have more "power" aka gigahertz. But as far as price goes AMD knocks intel out of the park. Now lets address the pipelines issue. Intel proccessors are crammed with pipelines thus making them slower at multitasking where as in AMD the pipelines are spread making multitasking and easy task for the AMD. Front Side Bus- we already established intels power factor(moving on). 64 Bit Proccessing The new AMD 64 bit proccessor running at about 2.8 gigahertz will domolish an 3.5 gigahertz intel cpu. So with the new windows 64 bit edition. Not to mention that most unix based OS's run at 64bits instead of 32. So as far as general use AMD is alot more compatible and a better proccessor and also running about 150$ less than the leading intel. Intel cpu's keep cooler but only because they dont work as hard as AMD's. And as far as the other items go since AMD multitasks a lot better than Intel AMD clears the screen on all the other test. Oh and by the way look at some benchmarks at toms hardware guide and youll see the Amd 64 bit come out on top.
