Lightbulb Need developers for Open Source Project (network related)

    Greetings all,

Im starting a Network Analyzer open source project, similiar to Ethereal. The reason I decided to do this is because there is really not a good free network analyzer beside Ethereal, which interface I find to be clunky and dont like.

Like Ethereal, it will use the WinPcap drivers for capturing packets.
The captured data will be sent from an activex dll (already coded/c++).

Where vb help is need is with the decoding of byte data into the different medium types and protocols.

    A quick screen shot.

If you interested in the project please respond here.

    Thanks,
    packetvb

Ethereal sucks and there are sooo many totally AWESOME free alternatives.

Check out the free versions of wildpacket's software. There are almost more that can re-construct the packets into an e-mail, jpeg, ect... just the name escapes me right now... but it is free!

I believe the point here isn't to have a program that does that, but have the power to include that in a program from us..

    PT Exorcist ,
Well partitally, I ran into some problems with the COM.
So, Ive just been focusing on the COM dll, so others may use it.

Capturing of packets part of COM component was just completed.
Theres a example program thats shows source MAC/IP and dest MAC/IP and when clicked shows the raw data in hex and asc at bottom.
The COM dll and vb source for application can be
    found at.
