Programmer help for a project, anyone interested?

    Hi all

I have co-developed a popular program (I'm not a programmer) and we are looking for a 3rd person to join this project as it's too much programming for just one guy . Due to unforeseen circumstances at the minute programming time is very limited

we need someone who is very good with VB6 (other languages also welcome) and can also commit some time to this project and also start working on it straight away

the first task is a simple one that requires a file splitting tool, taking files from one location and splitting those files to another location

if anyone is interested just let me know as soon as possible so we can discuss it further as I'm sure one of you guys can help

    cheers

    Ok,

I am interested. Your first task seems simple. What is the actual task that is to be done?

    Hi

I have actually got this project 90% complete now and it cost me what I thought was a reasonable price. I think that's because it was real simple for him because I had the offset formulas to get the values for the splits so it only took him a very short while. I've actually asked him to further develop the tool as he can do more to it but thanks for showing the interest though

I'm also looking at creating another simple tool to help me modify files on my Hard Drive. Basically it reads the file at certain addresses (I have formulas again). It shows the data and allows me to edit them and then writes them back to the file when I'm finished editing

    e.g.
offset = byte 200, read 4 bytes and convert to decimal (5)
Multiply this offset by 1000 (5000) and read 4 bytes starting at that address and convert to decimal (10). This tells you how many entries there are
create a loop (for x= 1 to 10) to read each entries data and display it and remember it's byte address
edit the values and write it back to the stored addresses

it's simple stuff really, algebra in my eyes, as I already have the formulas at hand that get me the data I require. I just can't program

The thing is I actually want it programing in C++ and this is a VB forum , that is unless anyone knows C++ also of course , if so just PM me and we can discus things

    cheers
