CD Tray Problem
Recently in the past couple of days, my cd tray has stayed open on my computer. When I click the button on the cd drive the tray goes in but within 3-4 seconds it pops back out and stays out.
Up until several days ago, the drive was working fine without any problems.
Is there any way that I can fix this? If so How?
What could have caused this?
Thanks to all that reply.

I had that problem, try holding the drive as it moves and pressing the button when it stops, fixed it for me.
I use Microsoft Visual Basic 2005. (Therefore, most code samples I provide will be based around the .NET Framework v2.0, unless otherwise specified)

Masking tape.
Remove the CD drive from the device manager, and reboot. Then reinstall it. And see if the problem persists.
You could also try putting it on another IDE cable.
Or use masking tape.

It might have a lump of ****e stuck in the gears right at the end of the tray's travel. Get one of those air dusters and give it a close range blast through the open door.
Don't use napalm or semtex, that's overkill.
I don't live here any more.

Ideas Man, I have tried what you told me but that didnt work and when I hold it too long the tray just stays in there, so I used a pin to manually get the tray open but then the drive does not want to pull in the tray. So I pulled it out of the computer and opened it up and found a little white gear that got popped off its little spindle, I put the gear on the spindle and reassemble everything else. When I place the drive back into the computer it does the same thing that it was doing before, popping out and staying out.
If anyone else has any ideas of how to fix this please let me know.
