Why is it I post on these forums, I ask myself this every time I come here, and I, have now decided the reason:

Because of people like Kasracer preaching that "You dont need this and dont need that", I tbh, think you should
1: Grow a brain and
2: well, use it.

I dont claim to know every damned thing about the internet, but I do know what I need to know after training for it over the past few years. Ive also been on the internet since the early days of BBS on the Amiga so ive grown to know alot of the nooks and crannies.

If you want your computer to be secure (note, you can never be TOTALLY secure) use the following tools:

1: Antivirus Software
2: Firewall
3: Adware/Spyware scanners

I would also suggest running a scan for viri via an online scanner from time to time also.

Claiming that I am ignorant for saying this Kasracer makes you even more of an idiot every time I look at your posts, seeing as millions of technicians who know a **** load more than you do get infected with viri day after day, even after taking the utmost precautions, even down to blocking the downloading of files and emails on machines, you can still get a viri.

Get a damned life and grow up. Id suggest starting with nappies, they help.

You should take your own advice. Actually learn how viruses work and how AV software works and you'll realize it sucks and is useless. I also don't preach "You don't need this and don't need that". I said if you need AV, go ahead and use it. Check out the very first post.

I never said you were ignorant directly, I said people who need AV is ignorant. Saying so doesn't make you or me an idiot(www.dictionary.com if you're unsure what ignorance is) and I've NEVER meet a computer technician, who knew more than me, actually get viruses. If they do know more than me and get viruses, then my previous comments are still valid.

If you honestly think Viruses are soo hard to avoid, maybe you should learn more about them?

I haven't gotten a virus in 5 years. The first time I got one, I infected myself with over 300 viruses (READ: previous replies), so if you don't count that, I've never been infected with a virus since I got my first 486. Seriously, exercise common sense and you'll never get infected. Firewall is a good idea to avoid exploits, but AV is just a waste of resources.

I don't understand why you people start going off calling me an idiot and telling me to grow a brain or use me to grow dope. If you actually want a good arguement about this, stop retorting with stupid **** and actually state valid reasons for your arguement.

I don't know if you've realized it yet, but I've been replying the past few times well after 24 hours. I just take a couple of minutes when I got nothing to do when I reply. Hell I haven't been home for over an hour in the past week.
