    Talking programming for iPaq

Sorry, really have no idea which forum this should go under...

Anyway, i was really just wondering if anyone knows a way to write programs for HP iPaqs without having to download the SDK. I guess its inevitable, its just that the SDK is > 60 Mb, and i've got a 56k connection....

Just wondering if there is some way of writing C++ (or VB) code and #including some certain files???

    Thanks

Well, first to correct you... you do not "program for the ipaq"... ipaq is just a model of PDA

You can do it without the SDK sorta, its just like VB/VC++ ... if you want to manually edit all the project files etc you will be fine, im not sure if the compiler is seperate from the SDK IDE though.

manually edit the program files...by doing what? Sounds good though...

Oh, and writing programs to be used on iPaqs is still classified as "programming for iPaq", last time i checked .
    There's no definite article there...

If you create a vb project or vc++ project, add a few modules, forms etc and stick some code in just for appearance sake... now save them and look at the files that are saved, look at them all using notepad or whatnot and you will understand a bit more of what is going on... really, its a silly idea just as easy to use the SDK which you will probaly require anyway to compile.

It runs the same OS as alot of others PDAs...

You never hear someone saying "how do I program for a compaq?"

    does that mean...

Yeah, i am fine writing the things, its just getting compiled programs to work. I figured out quickly that copy-pasting normal .exe files doesn't work SO i guess it looks like i might have to dl the SDK....
