Capturing from a part of the screen

Is there a program that can take part of the screen as input (I'm trying actually to save streaming videos to disk, if it helps) and output as an AVI?

Heh, thanks for that Filb. I tried Hypercam, it had something that let you capture overlayed and transparent windows but it still didn't work...

I'm looking at that Lotus ScreenCam thing, but it would seem that it just does the same thing as the others, thanks anyway, I'll see if it works though...

And it does look like it has that copy protection.

Okay I think I'm on my way to figuring this out...

I'm going to set my screen to 640x480, and set my signal to TV Out. Then, I'm going to record it on my VCR, and finally loop it back through my TV tuner.

Horrible quality maybe, but it just may work...

Hehe, here's what you do: Go into your display properties, and COMPLETELY DISABLE hardware acceleration. Wha-la, screenshots.

Too many grave-diggers around here. I'm sure he's either given up or gotten it taken care of in the past year+
