MS Word Crashing on Exit...
My Boss is having an unusual problem with his Microsoft Word. Every time he closes a document the program will crash with an unknown error and attempt to recover lost data. Along with the little send/do not send error report popup.
All other MS office programs work fine. I have run the repair function, uninstalled word and reinstalled it, and uninstalled MS Office completely and reinstalled it. I have tried it with the Microsoft Office Updates installed and without the Office Update. Each time Word still crashes on exit which leads me to believe it may be some other setup on the machine that is glitching the exit sequence of Word.
Does anybody have any ideas about how to troubleshoot this problem?
His machine is running Windows 2000 Workstation, latest Service Pack, MS Office 2002 (full install, not update) along with a wide array of "other" software that he has put on there.
All worked fine at first after the install but he didn't tell me of this problem until a couple weeks after it started and was unsure of the time or event that caused this problem to begin.
Please, reformatting is a very undesirable option in this case due to political reasons which I will not go into. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot without reformatting are greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Re-install office...thats about the only solution that I can think of. It only takes a few minutes.

I have run the repair function, uninstalled word and reinstalled it, and uninstalled MS Office completely and reinstalled it.
This is why I think it is something external to the office setup.

Ok, I see. I have no clue why it would be doing that.
