Side-by-side installation [Resolved]
Is it possible to install VS 6.0 along side of a VS.NET 2003 install?
On one of my systems I have VS 6.0 and another system with
VS.NET 2003. It is a pain to compile and test my vb6 apps on the
system with my vs.net 2003 and Office 2003. I need to keep my
Office XP install on my system with VS 6.0.
Thanks in advance for any advice or help.

So as long as I install to different locations it should work?
No conflicts or any known issues?

By default it's different......
It's like installing Opera and Firebird, they are fairly different but can do the same thing

True, but they still share some common system files, just different versions.
if I install VS 6 first and then install VS.NET 2003 to a different
location, the shared files will be still compatible with VS 6?
Has anyone sucessfully done this before? if so how?

The only thing they share is probably MDAC.

Thanks. Then it shouldn't matter which is installed first.

I just want to make sure it will be fine since if it crashes my
system it will take some time to reload all my software, if I have
to reload. I know nobody like to have to start all over again. I
can't back it up to a different drive since it only has only one and
my computers are not currently networked at the moment. So I'm
sure you can appreciate my concern.
