    ipconfig

    I just tried to run this ulility and as soon as it appears, it disappears. I haven't come across this before, how am I supposed to keep it up?

    Open up a DOS window before you type it.

    Start > Run... > cmd

    ipconfig

    and you'll have your info in front of you.

    It's strange that you wouldn't know about this. You're looking for info as to what it does? Stuff like that?

    BTW, if you have Windows 98, you can type winipcfg instead, and you get a Graphical version of the same thing.

    nup, always just typed ipconfig and never had a problem until now, on xp pro. I think it is connected to my pc not allowing me to use dc++, but that's another story

    there is a way you can fix that but I forgot....if I figure it out ill tell you..........but i have always used cmd well and command of course in the golden days of windows.
