Brad Jones can change it, but the change will not be reflected in old posts, just in the new posts that you start posting AFTER you change the name.

I've asked before, too, but no use.
And, if I understand how vBulletin works, it should change your old posts too. Doesn't vBulletin store by userID in the post table, and then query for the name?
Or is that another board system I'm thinking of?
Notice how all the old member's whose accounts got deleted back during the big fiasco a couple of summers ago. The user name for the posts are blank.
That makes me think it does store it via userID and query for the user name.
Just rambling...

So how about it, Brad?
I know your a very busy guy, but maybe if I place an text ad of one of the advertisers for my user status, we could make it a deal? Or I could fix the PHP tag for you (re: me) in exchange?

The policy on user name changes has been "only if there's a very good reason" and it's not done very often.

Very good reason? I don't want to be called "The Homo" anymore. Bad choice of picking a name on my part.
Not often? I'd have it changed to Kristopher, my name, and would see no need to change it after that. Every other place I participate in, I'm Kristopher.
I understand if it's too much work, though.
Edit: Actually, there's already someone with the name Kristopher, so I'd have to ask for something else.

When a user name is changed, then old posts are changed too. The posts are stored with an ID number and the name is linked to that number.
As MartinLiss stated, we only change them if there is a very good reason, otherwise, we would be constantly fielding requests for name changes. Sorry.
Brad!
