    Projects will not execute..

This is probably a PC related item but I want to see if anyone has experienced it and has a solution.

I am running Visual Studio and when I either open a project or create a new project and try to "start" the program, it just hangs up. It shows that "Build suceeded" but my form never comes up and I have to open the task menu to shut down the whole studio. My project 'exe' name is in the task bar as well showing that it is running but it is not displaying on the screen.

    Suggestions?

Does rerunning the project show the from? What happens if you switch to that task? I occasionaly had that problem with VS 2002, but running the project again showed the from. I have not faced the problem with VS 2003. What happens if you directly run the program from bin directory in the project?

The exe will run from the BIN folder. I am also using 2003 Studio.

When trying to run the project from within VB it just locks up. It never shows the form. When I open the Windows task menu it shows the Studio running as well as the exe but the exe does not display and the Studio freezes and has to be shutdown.

My case with VS 2002 was different. It didn't hang the VS, but the form just didnt show up. However, I had somehow the same problem quite a while ago, and that was running the project hangged VS, I examined softwares and hardwares and to my surprise the reason was my graphic card not inserted into the AGP slot properly. After fixing that everything was ok.

Some say that formating C: will do the trick.

    Thanks.

It was working fine but just started doing this out of the blue. I am reinstalling it now. I probably should have uninstalled it first but I figured I would try it this way first. After reading the thread you posted, I suspect there is a problem with debug.

    Thanks again!
