How are Microsoft Exams ?

Just wanna ask how the microsoft exams questions are, i.e. what type of questions are? and how many are multiple choices

Depends what test you are taking.
I have taken both VB6 exams (desktop and distributed), the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise exam (70-229), the 70-100 Solution Architecture exam, and the new .net 70-300 Solution Architecture exam.

The VB6 exams were multiple choice only.

The SQL Server exam had mostly multiple choice, but had some other question types in it like creating table structures.

The solution architecture exams are a different breed altogether. They have limited multiple choice questions. They are mostly a Case Study and questions about it, dragging and dropping items to create workflows, creating database structures, etc. There was a sample exam on the MS site a while back for these exams, you can get a better understanding of what they are like.


In all, if you study a good study guide book (do a search on the forums for suggestions), and you know your material, you shouldn't have a problem. Having a MCSD certification has given me at least 5,000 more a year on my salary. So it was worth it. Even if I didn't pass each one the first time (which I did), the extra cost of taking a make up exam still would have been worth it if I needed it. I am going for the MCSD.Net cert next (hence the 70-300 exam I took), and I am going for another 5,000 a year on my salary after I obtain it.

Good luck on your exams if you take them. I think of them as a fun and challenging way to prove to myself that I know the subject matter.
