    Not a biggie

I just was thinkin and sometimes when people post code, the code may have the letters or other characters which are used to make a smiley and when they post vb code you see smileys instead of intentional code. a suggestion mite be change the regular smiley and winkin smiley into something more like

    and

    Just something i noticed

that is very true, I often see something with a semi-colon and brackets or a colon followed by D

but altering the smilies would probably mean that all smilies that have been posted so far would be altered (so if you look up any previous posts, they wont be displayed).

I think the best thing to do would be to disable smilies inside VBcode tags. (but that may not be possible!)

There's a little checkbox below the textbox when you're posting that says

"Disable Smilies in This Post "

    Use it.

yeah, that is one way, but that assumes:

    a) you remember to do it (I've forgotten before!)

    b) you dont want to put any smilies in the rest of your post ;)

I think it would be nice if smilies were disabled inside tags by default (with another tick box to enable them)

    Good Point!

But this has been a long standing issue, going back to the days of filburt1's crusades to troubleshoot every little minibug in existance.

Personally, I think it lightens things up when you see a smilie in your newly posted code, and I'd like to see that functionality actually added to the development environment of VB!

    :)
