    Signature Sizes

I think there should be more regulation to signature sizes.

(I've seen this elsewhere, didn't try to find it)

Ruku is just one of the people that i've noticed that has a huge signature.

I know you can turn them all off, but it's nice to browse the forums and have some signatures interweaved but when there's 1/6 page occupied by a signature, it's a little excessive.

I agree. Some sites have 3-4 line limits, and I think something like that would be nice here.

I seriously don't understand why I would care about your system specs, or some funny 30-line joke you got spammed with. That stuff doesn't belong in a signature.

We are currently looking into the issue. Brad is away for a few days, but when he returns we will likely implement some changes to signatures. In the meantime if you come across some unusually long signatures please let me know via a Reported Post.

    Thumbs up

You're right. Big signatures are very annoying.

I dont mind text, although limiting it would be nice. It's the people with enormous pictures in their signature that piss me off.

Version 3.0 of vBulletin gives more control over limiting signature size. When version 3.0 is installed, we will most likely set a maximum size on signatures.

    Good idea to restrict size.

No. I was hoping it was going to happen last year, but there are just too many serious bugs in the software. Once the [serious] bugs are ironed out, we will upgrade soon after. We use vBulletin for a number of forums, and all the forums are wanting a number of features that are provided in Version 3.0. As such, we are really wanting to do the upgrade. We do, however, want to keep the forums working too, so best to hold off until it is stable.

Version 3.0 is a major, major upgrade. It adds tons of features from thread views to personal ratings (reputations). I believe that the large number of big changes in 3.0 is the reason it is taking longer. Because this isn't our own product, we have to wait for fixes and new updates.

That is correct. I now that our (Jupitermedia) developers talk with the Jelsoft guys too.

I would like to say that while there are bugs, the software is definitely being beefed up and will be a great update when it is ready.
