    problem with windows mediaplayer

    when loading a movie in windows media player it looks good for a couple of seconds, then is gets really dark! why? how can i fix this problem?

    Probably can adjust the overlay brightness.

    Does this happen with any other player ? Because I had something similar and discovered the issue was with some codecs I had to install to watch that movie .

    DivX player is pretty cool.

    Watch out for GAIN bundled DivX downloads... they play havoc with your PC!

    Check for GAIN0X0X.exe in your process list (where X is a number version)
