    Question Which Database?

    Hello,

I am looking to develop an idea of mine into realisation.

The project will involve a website with a database and a VB application working from the database.

Whats the best database to use these days as part of a website? I guess the answer will be SQL. However, I have been quoted around £40 a month for hosting a website with a SQL database. This seems quite expensive for a personal development idea.

What do you guys use? Access would be cheaper but not so rubust. I have MX Studio so ColdFusion is an option... or is it?

    Any ideas welcome.

It really depends on what you are using the database for and how many people will be accessing it.

    Which Database?

I would guess that there might be a 1000 users but only 20 or so people using the database at any one time.

Access can handle up to 10 concurrent connections so if you are correct then SQL Server is what you need.
