    connect to PCs(win XP)

    I've borrowed my friends laptop which has some precious files which I wanna copy, the laptop doen't have a modem. what can I do to copy the files?

    copy files to floppy disk and move them to your pc.

    Easy

    unless u want to network them which in windows xp is very easy anyway. Pulg in a crossover network cable to the network cards in each pc run the network setup on both machines (following the intructions very carefully) and then you should be able to set up file sharing

    Does the laptop have an LPT? Most do.

    If so you can very easily transfer files, it's also pretty fast.

    use a LPT file transfer program like LapLink.

    or in Windows XP, u go in the network connection wizard, advanced connection, plug 2 PCs together with the parallel cable. It's not that fast really. 900kbps....

    Get someone's removable burner and copy it over cd.

    Get a usb NIC and connect to another PC in LAN.

    Rest other guyz have already told.
