    Not even TweakUI

Some time ago I reported problems with win98 messing up the icons every once in a while. I used TweakUI to restore them but there are still 2 reluctant ones.

The folder icon (highlighted in the attached image) of c:\windows\system\shell32.dll is displayed correctly when the icon window pops up but after being selected it is shown with those 3 characters on it (1).
The other problem is all other folders in hd are displayed with the character "A" on them as #2 in the image.

    How can I restore them?

I dont know why - ppl must wear out there CTRL+ALT+DEL Keys and ofcourse, reset

    ---------------------------

You could reinstall windows 98 (needs it one a month anyway ) or get the dll file that contains the icons from another machine and replace yours

    Hmmm...

"It's Amazing how every time you open your mouth you prove your an idiot"
    That should be...

"It's amazing how, every time you open your mouth, you prove you're an idiot."

It's amazing how you've proven only your own idiocy.

    Shouldn't it be:

"It's amazing how, every time you open your mouth, you prove you're an idiot."

Because the clause in the middle is optional?

That looks better. With how fast I type, and ignoring the homerow.... I often go back to edit my posts because of typos.

    *thumbs up for catching it*
