Has anyone ever worked with SharpDevelop?
Hey I was wondering if anyone has ever worked with SharpDevelop?
At first I thought this is a pretty good alternative to Microsoft Visual Stidio .net,.....I mean its free! And it looked pretty good!
But then I designed a coupleof Forms with it, saved, closed the app and a couple hours later opend it again, and SharpDevelop destroyed all my forms.
Not one Element was at the position it was supposed to be! And there was no way of repositioning them. SharpDevelop through them all over the place, but not where they where supposed to be!
Has anyone else experienced the same thing or has a workaround for that?
Well, i might try the next version of it, and up till then i think it just has to be visual studio.net

i've seen that it has a number of bugs , there is meant to be an update coming. but i havent tested it.
have you tried Borland's C# personal developer , it's free and it's very good ( but it's 260meg or so in size if you intend to download it )

Nope havent tested it up till now, but i sure will! Downloading it at work!
But I just liked the thought of an freeware/OpenSource C# development environment! Sad its not working satisfying enough for me!

Well #Develop is still in Beta so there is going to be loads of bugs.
try here for a better chance of finding an answer.
Considering that it's OpenSource you could always fix it yourself
Given that I'm stuck in the past with Win98, #Develop works on it and VS.Net dosn't so I'm stuck with it I tend to use it to create the forms save it and work from NotePad. *sigh*

Yeah, Notepad is the best! Even so I prefer PROTON!

It has at least Syntax Highlightning!
Still on Win98, you should get yourselfe an Operating system, not a virus!
So I'll be waiting for the new version of #DEVELOP and try it again!
