I like how they have been "identified from 'multiple sources'" (CNN.com).... what the heck does that mean? They identified the bodies from TWO decks of cards?
Please..... In 6 months it will come out that some one misspoke, and that it was supposed to have been taken out by the CIA, and that there were no bodies....
I dunno, it seems awfully coincidental... that this comes at a low point....

Saddam's sons dead????!!!!!!
Wow.
LOL!
Let's hope the (tomatoe?, mustard?) source is just as accurate as when it was claimed that they have id the body of one of the terrorists of 911 in the ruins of the twin towers, while the guy was alive and well in another country.
Ahh well...

4 pics were just released showing the bodies of the Hussein brothers...so its pretty well confirmed...they're quite dead.
You can do a search on google if you want to see them, they're not hard to find, but I warn you...they aren't pretty.
You just proved that sig advertisements work.

I'm a bit confused, 200 soldiers surrounded the house so they were going nowhere, why then did they blast the house to bits?
Surely if anyone was going to know where Saddam is it would be his sons. These two would have more info than anyone else bar Saddam himself about any weapons.
So conspiracy time
1. They wanted them dead because they knew thay had no info about weapons that don't seem to exist.
2. The son's were already dead when the Soldiers got there and they blasted the place to make things look good.
Whatever happened you now have to martyrs for the cause.

The house was hit by missiles from a helicopter gunship, as I understand it. That may not have been sufficiently delicate to allow for prisoners.

The house may have contained tunnels. They had already uncovered a great many tunnels under palaces and buildings throughout Iraq I don’t think it’s reasonable to assume that there was no way out. I know I wouldnt take the chance of letting them escape if they were that close to getting them, no matter how remote.
When someone shoots at soldiers I think it’s reasonable that they are going to shoot back. They were asked to come out of the house and surrender in the beginning of it all, their response was to fire on US soldiers. Hence you have a house that is blasted to bits.

Come on you have to be kidding with number 1 right. If anything they would want them alive to tell all they knew about the WMD they already admitted they had, not dead to continue the mystery of where the WMD actually went too. Killing them for the possibility of stating that there were no WMD (something the Iraqi government had already said) makes no sense.
I’m sorry but number 2 is just a tad amusing. I suppose the weapons fire coming from the house was all by automatic drones manned by remote control? And the wounded US soldiers were all volunteers that agreed to be shot just to make everything look genuine? That theory just doesn’t hold any water whatsoever but it made for interesting reading at least
The truth of the matter is they are dead and they are not coming back. Now maybe the Iraqi people can worry less about that regime coming back and things can start to calm down. This is a great victory for the coalition forces and a great victory for the Iraqi people. Now all they have to do is get Saddam himself.

I think it is possible that the US would prefer Saddam and sons dead over alive, despite the value they might have alive. Saddam knows lots of things, some of those things are items that some people don't want to hear. After all, we had a very close relationship with him, even when he was using chemical warfare against others. I understand that the city of Detroit gave him the key to the city back in 1980, which just underscores how far we were willing to go to cement close ties with a stable dictator in the region (as opposed to Iran at the time).
Having said that, I feel confident that the sons were killed in the fighting at the house. Expecting them to just surrender was probably unrealistic. After all, about the only thing we could do with them is take them to Cuba for the rest of time. Both were guilty of any number of crimes, but we certainly couldn't try them in the US, and wouldn't try them in Iraq.
They probably died in the fighting, and the administration got over it's grief in the briefest of time.
