Mandrake Lunix
I am thinking about purchasing the PowerPack Edition v9.1 this week but i wanted to first see if anyone is currently running this or another Lunix variant like Red Hat or SuSE and how they like it.

Yeah i would like to try somthing else besides WinXP. I also like the fact that it can automatically partition a Windows NTFS drive during setup somthing SuSE Lunix 8.1 can't do plus it comes with the latest Apache Web Server which is pretty cool. At $69 im tempted.

You can also download Mandrake Linux 9.1 for FREE but you need a high speed connection or a friend with one and a burner

I use RedHat 8.0. It is easy to install and use. But if you want to try linux once, download knoppix. It is a iso-image. If you burn it on CD, it is a bootable CD, which auto-starts linux, no installation needed. Nice to see if it is what you expect from Linux.

You can do a network/internet install with Mandrake
no need to buy anything or download and burn (the installer once downloaded and runing will only download the files that you need for the options you chose)
Its the only way I install linux. my burner is to slow

Not neccessarily true . Some companies release trial software for some period of time, crackers then release the cracked version next day with no time limit . Love that
