Ok, I purchased a Logitech Messenger Webcam, installed the software no prob. Now I have an extra icon besides my drives and the one for the camera. Its called "Logitech Gallery" I would like to remove this icon if possible, the camera icon is ok but this one is annoying. I emailed Logitech and they said it cannot be removed, now I know that there is a way they just wont tell me. All I want its the icon removed thats it. he program has to stay.
Any help is appeciated.

Ok , this should be your last bet . Rightclick MyComputer ---->Advanced-----> Performance------->Adjust for best Performance . This will change your XP from the current config XP Look to W2k Look . Give it a try if still not working then Why the heck do you want to remove it ?
Doesnt work, I want it removed because I dont want it there, I have enough with the webcam icon. But if it cannot be removed then I guess Ill have to deal with it.
In that case I can't help u anymore. Sorry dude. I am sure that those stuff lies somewhere in registry. May be under a bit different name or something.

Hey Admiral
Maybe try to unInstall the program then reInstall it again but this time really pay attention to the install, perhaps you will get the option to install the gallery into a different directory or just install the drivers only without the gallery. There are also programs that can take a "Shot" of your registry before you install a program then take a "Shot" after installing a program, this will show you what has been changed in the registry (makes it easier to track changes) of course you will have to remove ALL remnants of the current install first.
Actually, I emailed Logitech and asked them. They said that the Gallery software cannot be removed and must be installed. I replied and asked if they could tell me how to remove the icon in My computer at least. There reply was that it still could not be removed.
Bascially becasue I dont like to have to scroll down on the main My Computer Icon, besides All I like in that window is The Drives and Maybe the Webcam item, thats all I want.

Oh, I'm sure that the setting for these changes are there...somewhere burried so deep in the registry that you would need a backhoe to get to it and labeled with a 30 digit number instead of a defining label.

Could be. Once to find a word in registry it took me 3 hours and it wan't a word. It was a HEXADICIMAL conversion of a word and I found it when I installed a tool which took a snapshot of registry and then installed the app and then took another snap and compared them.
