Your link does not work. If you want some landscaping stuff, I could probably help.
Somehow, I am getting a feeling that I answered something like this before so sorry in advance if I repeated myself.
"Can't" and "shouldn't" are two totally separate things.

I think this is the third time in the last few days I've seen this question asked, and i'm sure its been you every time . Oh well, first you need all the items that are going to be in your 3D world, these will be seprate files for each object (file type will vary a lot as theres loads of types out there, for example .x, .3ds, ect...). Once you have these you'll be loading them into your 3D world like you would load vertices (sort of) but to place the object where you want them you'll need to apply a matrix or 2 to the world first before you place each object. I hope that gives you an idea if not try reading up on www.direct4vb.com and it should start making sense, I advise Dx7 or Dx8 I don't seem to like Dx9 maybe cos I don't have VB.NET .
Good luck

Go with DX 7
I like DX 7 because it is compatible with more graphics cards.

Yea I like Dx7 best but thats just cos its the last one that had DirectDraw in it and I like to make 2D games best, no special software like 3D editors needed .

Probably another advantage is that it is easier to make any tool that you need easier because you do nto have to worry about 3-dimensional positioning.
