10$ Pc
I just bought a PC for 10$ with a screen for 15$ that came with a mouse and a keyboard!! But I have nooo clue what to do once I open it. Could someone tell me what this OS is and how to do something with it??
When I open the PC it says:
1024kb ok
161
OK (with a red X on it) ---> IBM (with the shape of a booklet)
163
I guess 161 and 163 are error numbers and you have to refer to the IBm booklet....
then I press F1 and it says:
The IBM Personal Computer Basic
Verion c1.10 copyright IBM Corp 1981
62940 Bytes free
OK
and at the bottom of the screen I have these options:
1LIST 2RUN<- 3LOAD" 4SAVE" 5CONT<- 6,"LPT1 7TRON<- 8TROFF<- 9KEY 0SCREEN
some Basic commands work like:
25 print "hi"
run 25
but excpet from that, I have nooo idea what to do, anyone have an idea?

Thats the whole thing. GWBasic I beleive. You either type stuff in and run programs, or load them off floppies (does it have a drive?)
It has novelty value See if you can program snake or something.

Yeah it has a floppy drive... no CD's though. How do I load something off a floppy? I tried 3LOAD"A:\" doesn't work... I tried a few other commands, just doesnt seem to work. And how do I know what programs are on the PC? How do I run them?

Save that computer, and keep it in prime condition!
I guarantee that it'll be worth quite a lot eventually (as a collectable)! There's even a museum today that features such ancient computer technology!
Just think, when there's a quantum computer in every home, I'll bet that there'll be geeks willing to pay mucho $$$ for something like this!

Go look up a guide on programming ancient IBM PCs, or on GWBASIC. Or something.
