    Question networking question

    Hi Everyone

I finally broke down and networked the computers in our house, which went smoothly and everybody shows up in My Network places.

I set up some shared folders...no problem.

Now here's my question, I can share files and the laser printer, but can I share applications?

Most important...how can I play a multiplayer game or Medal of Honor with my kids?

Alms for the challenged. Thanks guys

MOH can be played with the multiplayer options in the game...just go to play over LAN (or whatever the option is)

Sharing applications can be done in numerous ways, but if you can then by all means install the software on the computer itself.

You can use remote desktop connection or MS Netmeeting to share apps. RDC will lock out all other users of the shared computer, and Netmeeting is a pain. RDC is nice if nobody else needs the machine though...

    Thanks siyan

I've never done a multiplayer game or Lan party, so I drew a complete blank.

I'll check out google for info on RDC. Thanks!

I better get up to speed....my son wants me to build a game server!

    Thanks again

A dedicated server? You dont' really need one...so long as the computer hosting is sufficiently fast (CPU counts more than usual here), hosting even 32 players usually isn't a problem.
