Starting Up A Website
I was thinking about starting up a website and was wondering what the cost is per month?
I know i would have to register a domain about $100 but what i would like to know the cost of a server because i would like to serve about 500gigs of stuff and expecting about 10gigs per day
Tips:
- Google is your friend! Search before posting!
- Name your thread appropriately... "I Need Help" doesn't cut it!
- Always post your code!!!! We can't read your mind!!! (well, at least most of us!)
- Allways Include the Name and Line of the Exception (if one is occuring!)
- If it is relevant state the version of Visual Studio/.Net Framwork you are using (2002/2003/2005)
If you think I was helpful, rate my post IRC Contact: Rizon/xous ChakraNET/xous Freenode/xous

are you wanting to actually run everything? or just have someone host the site for you?

500 gigs of space and 300 gigs of bandwidth - you need a dedicated server.
I'd suggest visiting WebHostingTalk and doing some research before even thinking about choosing a host.

What are you planning to host?
In my experience the mods over at WHT are very reasonable.

500 gigs of space? I wonder what he might be hosting...
You are going to need to rent some rack space and put your own server in there. Add as many HDs as you want, and you pay the company for the bandwidth you use...
If it is anything illegal, they may not allow it though. Probably not actually
I'm bringing geeky back...

I am not going to be hosting porn, if that is what your thinking! (thats for my personal server jk)
I want to host some files of mine and they are not illegal so the host should not care what is on it
know any place near Winnipeg, Manitoba that will rent me rack space with 1000gig/+month transfer
btw: i make a mistake about the bandwith perday and forgot a zero but what i have up there should suffice
Im mostly going to be serving MP3's and Music Videos
