Norton Internet Security 2003 + VS.NET 2003 ?
This is weird ! I installed NIS then as usual ran VS.NET 2003 , but it hangs , with error saying "the file in use " . I don't want to uninstall NIS though . Have you faced this problem guys before ?

I have NIS 2003 & VS .NET 2003 & they both work fine. The only thing is that in my case I installed NIS first. What I did have to do was to turn off Script blocking, because every time I opened a new project NIS would ask if I wanted to allow it. Script blocking is a royal PITA anyway IMO.

Re: Norton Internet Security 2003 + VS.NET 2003 ?
Hi,
I assumed Norton had sorted this out by now, but I just loaded NIS 2005 (Legally!!!) and it has stopped me building and running all my VB.NEt 2003 projects - even when NIS is disabled.
Any help please? (I cannot see any option in NIS to turn off Script Blocking)

I heard that installing VS.NET on a machine that has NIS previously configured won't make any trouble .I quit using this ****ty firewall since then.

Re: Norton Internet Security 2003 + VS.NET 2003 ?
Hi,
For anyone interested, I have spent 4 days blocked out of VB.NET by Norton NIS 2005
Their site support was no help whatsoever, not even supplying the phone number for the paid support phone line they advertised!!!.
I eventually got to the paid support phone and they were apparently aware of the problem and sent me 3 downloads which they said would correct matters. (Apparently it is caused by upgrading from earlier Norton products).
Unfortunately that made no difference to my problem, inspite of three long telephone conversations to their paid support line, and I was eventually advise (by them!!!) not to use Norton NIS 2005.
I've been using Norton Virus and Firewall products for many years with no problems. Which product do you guys recommend, please?

I've Nod32(antivirus) + ZoneAlarm (firewall + integrated spyware) . I've been using this for about 4 months now . No problems at all . I'm so happy with them...
