Windows XP Tablet PC & ASP
I know that Windows XP Home Edition cannot be used to develop ASP applications.
I wanted to buy a Tablet PC notebook. Does ASP work with Windows XP Tablet PC edition?
Please let me know as I need a mobile computer that can be used to develop ASP.
Thanks.

I don't think the Tablet PC version of windows supports IIS. The requirements to do asp.net development with the VS.Net IDE is to have IIS installed.
Now, you don't need to use the VS.Net IDE to do ASP.Net development. Look at the web matrix at asp.net.

Windows XP Tablet PC DOES, indeed, support IIS. The only difference between it and XP Professional is the hardware it supports.

I think you should get a laptop instead. Tablet PC was not made to replace the laptop and is a bad choice for development on for anything other than writing apps for other Tablet PC's.

That is good to know, I couldn't verify it because I don't have it.
But... tell me the reasons why MS includes IIS on a tablet PC instead of on XP Home? Isn't a tablet PC supposed to be portable? That MS is funny sometimes...lol.

Some people at MS have there heads in some strange places.
MS employee: "Hey! I got an idea, lets use a Tablet as a web server!"
