    Thumbs down Some Explaination on Firewall Connection...

    Hi I want to make sure that my KaZaA doesn't work as a spyware...

    So how should I configure my Norton lnternet Security 2003 that will allow my PC to download files from another PC but others can't get anything from my PC... Sounds bit conflicting isn't it but thats the way I want it...

    So you want to download files from others while blocking them from getting files from you?

    Sort of defeats the purpose of file sharing.

    Use Kazaa Lite or K++ if you want spy/ad-free Kazaa. But don't just stop sharing.

    Besides, if there was spyware of that sort then it likely wouldn't run on the same port ass Kazaa P2P transfers.

    What I want to know is noy about Kazaa only. I am talking about general aspect.

    I have a norton internet security 2003 installed and I want to manually configure the program for intenet access.

    Now what exactly Inbound connections and out bound connections and what do they mean by allow TCP port, UDP port, both.

    Why the paranoia? Standard firewalls will block essentially all trojan attempts, and you can clean ad/spyware with Adaware.

    Heck if you're careful with sketchy software and don't run a server you don't even need a firewall.

    dude I am not worried about someone hacking my pc...nothing there to hack...

    I just want to learn this terminologies...
