DSL Connection Wizard in W2k ?

I installed Win2000 Pro on one of my home machines . I'm using DSL + Sat connection (no modem insalled) . When I want to add new connection , it gives me the option to add telephone number , for the modem in COM1 (although there is no modem installed) . How can I solve this problem ?

    Thank you ,

    (I would appreciate some snap-shots)

Ok , I've found some screen shots ( Click here ) . Which one of these options would choose when you have DSL connection . Keep in mind I don't have modem and my DSL modem is external running on built-in LAN port !

You'd choose the LAN settings. It may still ask for your area code for the location even though it wont actually use it. You can also right click on the IE icon on the desktop and choose Properties. Then go to the Connections tab and choose 'Never dial a connection'.

What are you in? It shouldn't ask for a username and password since you shouldn't need one for DSL. Post a screenie.

I've never seen a username and password needed for DSL, sorry can't help. Do you need some specific software for the SAT connection?

I just set the modem and router info to the IP and DNS server info from my ISP, there is no Username or Password needed.

Try setting it up as a VPN maybe? Then it should have a spot for username and password.
