War Forum
You should make a chit-chat war forum next to chit chat so that chit chat doesn't get cluttered with war debates. Its really annoying right now

Did you vote on it ??
I voted yes cause there is allmost nothing else there , its messing up the chit.
I was the first who voted yes, does your vote not count then ?
Or are you just adding a poll, without having an idea about it.
Code:
If Question = Incomplete Then
AnswerNextOne
Else
ReplyIfKnown
End If

It seems things are evening out here. I voted yes because it really is getting annoying to see 10,000 things about US being stupid and France being stupid and Iraq being smart and evidence being fake and to kill them all. Lets hope we get one. It won't hurt anything, will it?

Except that over the period of time that this poll has been on the board, only 8 people cared enough to vote out of the thousands that are here. That is not enough interest to consider creating a new forum.
If this were a poll for adding a new Visual Basic related forum, (or even a different technology) then we'd consider it; however, the request is for an 'off topic' forum to be added. As such, there is little chance of this happening. With so little interest in even voting, I'd call this a dead issue.
Sorry,
Brad

I don't know, but here is what we have so far Brad. 11 votes for 80 views. You say its prolly more like 50 or 60 views not including people who are reviewing(more than once). Also, for just about anything here, its average to have a reply to view count of 1/10. This is far above that. Also, over 50% are for it. Could it hurt? If so, how... Just some food for though Please restore Chit-Chat by doing this. It can't hurt....

I don't think 1000's visit forum feedback weekly because it is not a common place. Also, only like 50 at the time had actually seen it including repeats, so you can't really say thousands, can you?

I voted no..... there's no need to.... it's a current topic of discussion, but 6months from now, we'll be on to something else..... it's overkill, esp for a developer's forum...

that an the fact that the war wont be going on forever... and if you make a war forum.. then people will want a religion forum.. because that from time to time clutters things up as well..
it's all chit chat

I reckon vbullitin should search for the word war in the post when the user submits it, then just ignores the request to save the post myself ....

Personally I voted no. Its a chit chat forum. Who cares if it gets crouded with war related topics its for chatting about unimportant things. If you really had something to say on this forum then there wouldnt be a problem with it going into a real forum folder.

A sub forum for this couldn't do any harm, and by the looks of how North Korea is behaving, there will be plenty of war threads to come.

I voted yes. Jus' my little bit to drive in the point that war and peace is at least as important as finding which API Call to use to find out Notepad's Hwnd, if not just that little bit more.

This is one of the first things I've ever seen changed due to member suggestions! Of course I don't come here much.

I've seen other things.
They just need hours on end of yelling at the moderators, threatning to boycott, putting on Black Avatars, etc. I gess the Admins have learned that its better to get things done peacefully because the will happen if the users care enough..

This is one of the first things I've ever seen changed due to member suggestions!
I've changed lots of things based on user suggestions. This includes the addition of a couple of forums, rearranging the order of items at the top of the page, the color of the buttons, the size of downloads, etc. etc. etc.
Most changes are made with little fan fair. The ones that get the most attention are the ones that are suggested professionally and with good reasons.

That could get rid of a lot of problematic posting and name calling
My guess is that it would just move back into the chit chat forum....

Well ...
Yes, that's a risk You could always have one such forum handy, which you use for potentially troublesome subjects and then just "empty" the forum, so all cra ppy stuff is thrown into the gutter, you might save on some space and performance penalties for the useless stuff etc. etc.
That's a less serious thought, anyway

The conversations about terrorism and monkeyface george bush will continue, so removing world events will just make all those posts end up in chit-chat again.
I see no harm in leaving it there.
And re; the name calling - welcome to VBF ChitChat

I don't think 1000's visit forum feedback weekly because it is not a common place.
Thousands of unique visitors do come here every week.

honeybee you can simply not go into that forum if you don't want to discuss things in it.. i dont see a reason to remove it...
or course you, gaffer, and plenderj are the leading opposers of popular US opinion.. so if you guys were to leave.. i dont think the forum would see too much activity
