Laptop Refusing to start!!
I have an IBM 390E Thinkpad and just finshed replacing the bottem casing because it had cracked in various places(mainly where it holds the screen). I put it all back together and turned it on and all the lights flash, i can hear the HD and the fan and then the harddrive light goes solid but the rest flash and go out. the only way to get the HD light to go away is to remove power complely. Does anyone know what this means?

do you mean that the harddrive died or the whole thing? To me this reminded me of how desktops wont give any video because the harddrive cable is reverse,
I would really like to try to get this laptop fixed b\c i just spent 100 cdn on a new bottem case and 200 cdn on a new keyboard awhile ago (I know, i know i should have kust dumped it)

Sounds to me like the whole thing. It's difficult to say without looking properly.
Check underneath the unit to see if there are any bent capacitors or resistors...
Regards,
Paul.
