we have vb installed over the network. some machines
when logged on locally as the administrator, you cannot
see anything in the add in manager. when you log on to
the network, the add in manager options are there. On some
machines, the opposite is happening. Any clues anyone??

I had a similar problem using a Win 2K machine. I forgot how I fixed it though. It had something to do with how each user stored seperate application data info so the options (where to look for everything like templates and what not) was different dependant upon what user I was logged in as. You may want to copy the application data folder from a user profile that works properly to one that doesn't and see if that works.

when you say it failed, what did you do, and what were the results.

These thing are invariably stored in the profile, or the reg.

we copied the application data folder from the user profile that it was working on into a profile where the add in manager was not coming up with the options. When we logged in as the user where the add in manager options were not coming up to see if the changes worked, they didn't work. It still showed blank.

Does it matter who you are logged in as when you set up VB??
What that have anything to do with the problems that we are having??

i'm fairly sure it does matter.

if you log on as admin, e.g. everyone gets the various bits.

if you log on as a specific user, only that user get certain bits.

This is not always the case, but can be.

    remember the reg as well.

Also, i'm not entirely sure this applies to vb (tho i have a hunch it does), so i may be talking wibble.
