What's max filename length * resolved
The max length for a filename is 255 characters, right? Does this include the extension and the period?
I'm making a file header for a resumable download and I need to store the filename info. I'm trying to decide how many bytes I should allocate for this info. Can anyone confirm if its 255?

Nevermind...
Guess I was wrong. It seems that 255 is the maximum path info (root & path & filename with extension) length.

That's the max length of a filename, however the max length of the path is 260 characters. So you can't really put a 255 character file in any other folder but the root...
